When you decide to use products from a premium brand like Arcahorn, you are investing in environmentally conscious and traditional craftsmanship, since all materials are obtained sustainably and processed with minimal impact. Arcahorn is a unique chance for discerning buyers who value sustainability, artistry, and heritage to own something truly special and unique.
The brand’s story began in 1958 when Mario Guerra, a young artisan passionate about natural materials and intricate craftsmanship, established a workshop in Recanati, a small Italian town rich in culture and ancient traditions. This marked the inception of A.R.C.A. (Artigiana Recanatese Corno e Affini), a company specializing in crafting unique pieces from Zebu horn.
The first creations included an extensive selection of cutlery, tableware, jewelry and personal care accessories. Mario Guerra showcased the inherently distinctive veins of horn by shaping it into everlasting objects using just his hands, fire, and a few tools. Horn reveals its uniqueness after an intricate production cycle requiring long lead times and specific manual skills. After exposure to fire, it becomes malleable and ready to be smoothed. With the help of different specialized tools, Guerra gradually shaped the horn into tiles, skillfully matched to create unique items with infinite natural shades. These horn shades were then combined with other precious materials, selected with attentive care, to create exclusive pieces.
Over time, Mario passed on his passion and expertise to his children, Giorgio and Silvia and in the early 2000s, the company began collaborating with designers and shifted their focus towards creating complementary furniture. In present day, their collections range from sofas to tables, bookcases, mirrors, lamps and bath and office accessories. They are created and designed by incorporating a variety of luxurious materials, including pebbled leather, ebony, silk and draw inspiration from Greek mythology, celestial bodies, the nautical world and the iconic pieces that have been pivotal in the company’s history.
Arcahorn’s commitment to craftsmanship is matched by a respect for the environment. They employ low-impact solutions and concentrate their production locally. The horns are sourced exclusively from free-range Zebus, bred in compliance with the animals’ ethological habits. The species selected (Horn Bos Taurus) are not protected by the Washington Convention and do not require a CITES certificate.
Arcahorn has consistently produced unique pieces by blending traditional techniques with modern design. Even today, the brand continues to innovate, offering a wide range of elegant furniture and accessories that also reflect a rich Italian heritage. Choosing Arcahorn means embracing a legacy of excellence and sustainability, ensuring that each piece in your home is as thoughtful as it is beautiful.
